Our Story

Rural Women for Healthy Food and Economic Development (RWOHFED) is a registered women-led community-based organization established in 2018 in Adjumani District. We are non-denominational, non-political, and non-sectarian in nature.

RWOHFED was formed in response to major barriers faced by women in producing healthy food for families and communities, including poor seed quality, limited land ownership and access, low access to finance, climate change impacts, limited ICT and agricultural technology knowledge, and gender-based violence.

We also work to address pastoralist and crop-farmer conflicts that affect peace and livelihoods. Through advocacy, awareness campaigns, information sharing, and practical training, RWOHFED promotes a supportive environment for women and youth to become self-reliant and lead healthy, dignified lives.
